The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced on February 25, 2021 an upcoming joint town hall with both The Benefits Coordination & Recovery Center (BCRC) and The Commercial Repayment Center (CRC). The town hall will take place on Thursday April 1, 2021 at 1:00 PM EST. The town hall will focus on questions surrounding Section 111 and NGHP recovery.
As readers may be aware, the BCRC is the contractor responsible for ensuring that CMS gets repaid by the beneficiary (generally) for any conditional payments it makes related primarily to liability cases. The CRC is responsible for the recovery of conditional payments where carriers (primarily workers’ compensation entities and no-fault plans) are the identified debtors.
Questions for the town hall can be submitted in advance no later than March 25, 2021 to COBR-NGHP-Comments@cms.hhs.gov.
